ABOUT
Martyn Hilliam is a UK based composer, creating music for TV, film, documentaries, video games, podcasts, adverts and other media from his studio just outside Cambridge.
Growing up he was surrounded by vinyl and was introduced to bands and artists such as Neil Young, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Talking Heads and many more. As he entered his teenage years, he began experimenting with music software, sampling and home recording - producing around two albums worth of tracks in his early teenage years.
Martyn also began playing drums and guitar in bands in his late teens and continued doing so whilst studying journalism at university and taking time out to travel.
Since then he has carried out session work on albums (both guitar and drums), recorded on two full-length records, several singles & music videos with bands (which received international airplay and rotation on TV stations such as Kerrang! and Scuzz) and was lucky enough to tour around the UK and in Europe.
Now proficient on a multitude of instruments, Martyn began pursuing his long-held dream of writing music for media. Combining his passion and understanding for the arts and music, Martyn aims to enhance the projects he works on by providing truly aligned music with an enjoyable collaborative experience.
Martyn also produces music as The October Collective.
